Attention beer lovers! On Sunday, July 21, H.O.P.E. Was Here will be guest bartending at the Newburgh Brewing Company taproom in Newburgh, NY, to raise finishing funds for the film.
The Newburgh Brewing Company, co-founded by fellow Boston University alum Paul Halayko, has quickly become a staple of the Hudson Valley, NY. The building features a beautiful, wide-open taproom complete with ping-pong, corn hole toss, and your favorite board games. Oh, and the beer is out of this world. So if you like fun, booze (wine served, too!), locally sourced food, good people, and supporting the arts, come have a drink and help us finish a movie! Here's what you need to know:
- What: H.O.P.E. Was Here Fundraiser
When: Sunday, July 21, 1-4pm
Where: Newburgh Brewing Company, 88 Colden St, Newburgh, NY 12550
Why: To raise money for our film score, sound design, film festival submissions, and other post-production expenses.
How: The Guest Bartending Program at Newburgh Brewing Company allows non-profit organizations into their taproom once a month to raise funds for worthy causes. And you guessed it--by "Guest Bartending," we mean that we will be the ones behind the bar pouring your beer! All cash tips made from 1-4pm will be donated to H.O.P.E. Was Here via our 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor, Creative Visions Foundation.
How much: We need about $7,000 to finish H.O.P.E. Was Here and get it out there. We don't expect to raise that much at the brewery, but heck, a filmmaker can dream, can't he?
We'll provide more details about the goings-on of the event as the date gets nearer. We're thinking balloon animals, piñatas, and pony rides. For now, save the date and spread the word! Tell your husbands, wives, partners, neighbors, cousins, friends, and enemies.
If you're not local to the Hudson Valley, don't fret; we'll be doing a formal online fundraising campaign next month for our friends and fans who live far and wide. And for those who have already donated to H.O.P.E. Was Here: thank you! Your generosity is immensely appreciated and makes our work possible.
