It's Day 2 of H.O.P.E. Was Here Premiere Weekend! Yesterday we saw great responses and conversations on twitter from early viewers:
"It's such an experience to relive those moments and reflect."
-@MichCurtis, Michelle Curtis, H.O.P.E. Peru 2012 Student
"The sound design and editing is amazing and seamless. It flows so naturally."
-@maxbelin, Max Belin, Filmmaker
"Watch @HOPEWasHereFilm if you have/are interested in volunteer abroad. Great film that stresses both good and bad of our impact."
-@liv_ev, Livvy Evans, International Volunteer
We learned that Livvy has had positive experiences with volunteer trips to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala with a volunteer abroad organization exclusively for teens, where the program practiced "well-formulated, well-implemented interventions involving locals." She added that similarly, the H.O.P.E. Peru trip had good involvement from local people, but her trips seemed to have a stronger focus on sustainable development than what she saw in the film.
To keep these conversations going, come to our online Premiere Weekend Q & A. Just take to twitter to add your comments, or, to ask any question you want about the making of the film from Director Mark Denega (that's me). Tweet at @HOPEWasHereFilm or @markdenega today and tomorrow for real-time responses. Ask anything!
